Privacy Policy

Who we are
WE'VE is a friendship-deepening app operated by Till LLC, a California limited liability company based in San Diego, California ("WE'VE," "we," "us"). This policy explains what information we collect through the WE'VE mobile app and website at weve.us (together, the "Service"), how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
WE'VE helps small groups of friends stay connected through regular conversation prompts. Because meaningful conversation sometimes touches on personal topics, we've written this policy to be as plain and honest as we can. If anything is unclear, email us at connect@weve.us.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account information. Your name, email address, and password when you create an account. If you sign in with Apple, we receive your name and email address from Apple instead, and no password is stored with us.
- Photos you choose. If you add a profile photo or a group photo, we store the photo you selected. We never access your photo library beyond the photos you pick.
- Onboarding and check-in assessments. When you join WE'VE, we ask questions to tailor the experience — such as how deep your group wants conversations to go and how often you want prompts.
- Group content. Your responses to prompts and messages you post in your group thread.
- Communications with us. Emails or support requests you send.
Information collected automatically
- Usage information. How you interact with the Service, such as which prompts your group receives and responds to, features used, and session activity.
- Device and diagnostic information. Device type, operating system, and app version, as reported by your device when the app talks to our servers.
- Push notification tokens, if you enable notifications.
We do not collect your precise location, contacts, or health data, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Sensitive information — how we handle it with care
Your "avoid topics" are private to you by design. Topics you privately mark as off-limits are never shown to other members of your group and are never attributed to you. To keep them out of your group's prompts, they are combined with your group's other boundaries into a single anonymous list and shared with our AI provider only as rules about what a prompt must never touch — and every prompt is separately checked against that list before it reaches your group. Your avoid-topics are not used to train AI models, and we never record them in our analytics or monitoring systems.
Assessment answers that may reveal sensitive information (for example, spiritual background or past difficult experiences) are used only to select and calibrate conversation prompts for your group. We never use sensitive information for advertising, we never sell it, and we never share it beyond the service providers described below.
How we use your information
- To provide the Service: creating groups, generating and delivering conversation prompts, and displaying responses within your group.
- To personalize prompts to your group's preferences, depth level, and boundaries.
- To send Service-related notifications and emails (such as new prompts or group activity).
- To understand aggregate usage, fix bugs, and improve the Service.
- To keep the Service safe and secure, and to comply with legal obligations.
We do not use your information for third-party advertising, and we do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
How AI is used — and what it sees
WE'VE conversation prompts are generated using Anthropic's Claude models. To shape each prompt, we send Anthropic limited group context — your group's description and hopes as written by your group's admin, members' chosen friend archetypes, conversation depth and pacing, example prompt styles from our library, and the anonymous list of topics to avoid described above. We do not send members' names or contact information. Per Anthropic's commercial API terms, this data is not used to train Anthropic's models.
Your responses are not used to generate prompts unless a feature explicitly says so (for example, a monthly group reflection that references your group's recent activity uses participation counts — visible only to your group — never the text of what anyone wrote).
Who can see what within your group
WE'VE is built around small groups. It's important to understand:
- Your responses to prompts and messages in the group thread are visible to all members of your group.
- Your private assessment answers and avoid-topics are not visible to other members.
Please remember that anything you share in a group thread can be seen, saved, or shared by the other members. Choose groups you trust.
Who we share information with
We share personal information only with service providers who process it on our behalf under contract, and only as needed to run the Service:
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Supabase | Authentication, database, photo storage, backend hosting, and account emails (such as password resets) |
| Expo (Expo Application Services) | Push notification delivery |
| Apple | Sign in with Apple, and push notification delivery on iOS devices |
| Anthropic | AI prompt generation, as described in "How AI is used" above |
| Mailchimp | Service and newsletter emails |
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of our users or others, or as part of a business transfer (in which case this policy will continue to apply to your information). We never sell your personal information.
Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal information — including your account details, assessment answers, and profile — within 30 days, except where we're required to retain limited records for legal, security, or accounting purposes. Anonymized, aggregated data that can't identify you may be retained to improve the Service.
A note about group threads: responses and messages you posted in a group thread may remain visible to that group after you delete your account or leave a group, so the conversation stays intact for remaining members. If you would like your past responses removed as well, email us at connect@weve.us and we will remove them.
Your choices and rights
- Access and update. You can view and edit your profile and assessment answers in the app.
- Delete your account. You can delete your account directly in the app (Settings → Delete My Profile) or by emailing connect@weve.us. Deletion removes your personal information as described above.
- Notifications. You can turn reminders on or off in the app's Settings, turn off push notifications in your device settings, and unsubscribe from non-essential emails.
- Skip anything. Sensitive assessment questions are optional.
California residents
If you live in California, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it (described in this policy), to access or delete your personal information, to correct inaccurate information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA. To exercise your rights, email connect@weve.us. We will verify your request via your account email and respond within 45 days.
Users in the EEA, UK, and other regions
Where local law applies, we process your information on these legal bases: performance of our contract with you (providing the Service), your consent (optional sensitive assessment answers, which you may withdraw at any time by editing or deleting them), and our legitimate interests (keeping the Service secure and improving it). You may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of your data, and to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Our Service is operated from the United States, and your information is processed there.
Security
We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and secure infrastructure provided by our hosting partners. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information in a way that reflects how personal it is.
Age requirement
WE'VE is for adults. You must be 18 or older to use the Service. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us at connect@weve.us.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll notify you in the app or by email before the changes take effect, and we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
